Hay de todo, casera, pregunte” (“There is everything, casera [frequent customer], ask me).

Fieldnote San Jose Market (Lima) 16/12/2014
— Huaita-Alfaro, 2019 (p.16)

This is a phrase I heard in every visit to my case studies in Lima, and I continue listening, under this or similar expressions, in every market I visit. Beyond the varied foodstuffs, this expression made me realise that finding “everything” also implied encounters and interactions with individuals from different avenues, establishing forms of convergence and even common action.

This has also been the case among researchers and experts, meeting around the shared engagement of contributing with the planning and revitalization of local food spaces, with a focus on their values for residents and the future of urban living. I walk in this direction, connecting and looking to consolidate networks with like-minded companions.

My commitment with the local takes a global dimension and I strongly rely on international and interdisciplinary friends and fellows who enrich my journeys, learnings and practice. The map below shows where we can find them.
